Interview with Tiana Reeves-Sullivan

Published 2018-01-02.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing probably at the age of 12. The majority of those stories were fanfiction, featuring relationships between a fiction character who was surprisingly similar to myself, and the main hero of any given movie with whom I was obsessed at the time.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a seaside city in Tasmania, Australia.

It didn't really influence my writing a whole lot, aside from my teachers at school.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I'm impatient enough to want to skip the middle man.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Success? What success?
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The desire to not die.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Procrastinating.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I'd rather not talk about that monstrosity.
Describe your desk
A disaster and a half.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My current work is influenced by a short story I wrote during one of my uni classes. I received pretty good feedback for that story.

I then dropped out of uni.
How do you approach cover design?
Panic, mostly.
