When I was twelve I wrote my first poem, THE FIRST CHRISTMAS, which St. Cyril's church published in the Christmas bulletin and a priest read to the congregation.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Los Angeles which strongly influenced much of my poetry, some of my stories, and at least two of my novels--AMATEUR AT HEART and HUNTING KETCH.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The desire for recognition of my work.
Who are your favorite authors?
Those of the Bible, as well as Shakespeare, and Joyce.
What is your writing process?
When I get a good concept, I write what comes to mind and develop it until finished. Then I read it repeatedly, editing as appropriate until I can make no more improvements. Then I ask my son to read it. Finally, I read one more time before publishing.
How do you approach cover design?
I let the theme of the book suggest image, typography, and color.

How do you discover the ebooks you read?
By searching Smashwords and Project Gutenberg.
What do you read for pleasure?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Making 3D computer graphic art, exercising, watching videos, and reading.
What are you working on next?
A satirical poem.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Discovering that someone enjoyed reading it.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
To make that day worth living.
