What is your writing process?
It just happens. Sometimes I think the books actually wrote themselves.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I hope I've given people books to read that they enjoy and consider worthwhile.
What is your latest book?
My latest book, just published, is called "Sopho". It is, again, like my other books, what I call social science fiction/fantasy set on alternative worlds in a unique multiverse.
Your favourite authors?
A range of sci/fi/fantasy but especially Ursula Le Guin, Katherine Kerr. Also a wide range of writers such as Laurie Lee, Donleavy, Clavell, and more traditional writers like Austen, Smollett, Heyer, Anthony Trollope, Huxley, Twain, H.G.Wells and Dumas. I read the Classics, ancient and modern history, and world mythologies. Dan Brown amused me. I enjoy the detective stories of Gervase Fen among others.
Do "Sopho", "Jepaul", and "Sephone" have any connecting story?
"Sopho" and "Jepaul" have connecting stories that also strongly link them with "The Ambrosian Chronicles" for characters and worlds. "Sephone" is a stand-alone book with no links to any other Katy books.
