What's the story behind your latest book?
The inspiration and story for my new book was to hopefully demonstrate that recovery is possible after child abuse, and also to give beneficial insight to the rational of actions and feelings from a survivor. The book also demonstrates the success and failings of medical care.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I always wanted to write and see my work published, being an indie author is exciting, humbling and pleasing at the same time.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has contributed to my success by opening new avenues and chances to promote my work.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing to me is the first time you see your work published, the communication from fans and the freedom of mind, as you are free to dream, write and inspire.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean so much, they motivate and inspire me to continue to write and they also remind me how humbling it is to be able to share experiences and emotions.
What are you working on next?
I am working on my next book which will be about true life in the countryside with a touch of humour.
Who are your favorite authors?
I like so many books I do not have a favourite author.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My family, my pets and the sunshine, when it's sunny I get out of bed twice as quick then when it's raining.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend a lot of time with my family and pets in the countryside.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I like to search the internet if I find a good book I usually buy more from the same author. I also like to have books recommended to me.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
When I was a kid I used to change the Mrs Pepperpot stories and write fantasy. My first piece of work published was when i was seventeen and I wrote a true account about finding my biological Mother whilst at the same time demonstrating how I think my adoptive Mum is my true Mum.
What is your writing process?
My writing process is not good I write when I am in the mood. Yet if I haven't written for a while I set 3000 words a day as my target.
How do you approach cover design?
I carefully think about the cover design and the impact it may have on the book. I ask advice and take time over it.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I like true stories and books on nature. I like true accounts as many inspire me.
What do you read for pleasure?
Again I read true accounts for pleasure.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I like kindle as I like Amazon ,but also because it was a gift from my husband.
Describe your desk
My desk is usually very untidy with the odd cat sitting on top.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing seriously at seventeen.
