Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I ever read was a Hardy Boys book. I was a big fan when I was a boy.
How do you approach cover design?
I rely on a professional to design my covers
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1. A Farewell to Arms by Hemingway. Love his descriptions of people and events in declarative sentences.
2. The Book of Dreams by Peter Reich. This is a book about his father, William Reich. Different than other books and will leave an impression. See the music video Cloudbursting by Kate Bush then read this book.
3. Birds of Prey by Wilbur Smith. Richly detailed adventure story. Love it.
4. Hans Christian Andersen: Fairy Tales and Stories English translation by H.P. Paul(1872). Read this recently. Wonderful.
5. Birds of Texas: Keith Arnold and Gregory Kennedy.(2007) My favorite birding book.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is a book of poetry. It is a lifetime collection.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has been very helpful. As a new author I didn't know which way to turn for help. I came across an interview with Mark Coker online.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Golfing, fishing, cooking, traveling
