What do your fans mean to you?
I wouldn't be anything without my readers. It's a fact. I love getting emails and messages from them.
What are you working on next?
I am working on my next roller derby book and a super secret project!
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Rebecca Ethington, Amity Hope, Jay Asher, Neil Gaiman, and Anne Eliot, among many others.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I start my day by reading in bed during the quiet of the morning. Words motivate me.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
My children and my husband are everything and we make the most of our family time. I love to do things outdoors like cutting firewood and grass.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I base my reads off of recommendations from fellow authors and readers, mostly through social media.
What is your writing process?
My writing process always begins with the cover. Once I see the cover, I'm ready to begin shaping worlds and carving out characters.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I don't remember the first story I ever read, but the first novel I read that really made an impact was Eye of the Dragon by Stephen King. I was way too young to be reading it, but I was never censored as a child. I remember being able to visualize every single detail.
How do you approach cover design?
I find the pictures myself. I really take a hands-on role in my cover art. Sometimes a picture speaks to me even before the story is written or thought up.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Five favorites? Wow, that's a tough one. American Gods by Neil Gaiman, Twisted by Amity Hope, Callum and Harper by Fisher Amelie, Every Ugly Word by Aimee Salter and 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher.
What do you read for pleasure?
I'm always going to be first attracted to Young Adult and sweet New Adult Novels.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I read on my iPad.
