Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in hospital. I contracted tuberculosis of the spine at age two in an era when there was no cure. The only remedy was to put the sufferer into an orthopaedic hospital until they died. Luckily, I didn't die.
Eventually, I had a major operation which was experimental, and although it cured the TB, it gave me another major problem which affected my entire life.
But that's the subject of a future book.
When did you first start writing?
Four years ago. My brother in law started writing his autobiography, but he never finished it. Mine is all but finished.
What are you working on next?
I like to work on two, sometimes three at once. My next book, which is almost finished, is Storm over Kakadu, a sequel to Searching for Patricia, a book already on Smashwords.
