In the solitude of his mind at the end of Book Two, Mohammed faced two doors which had a certain degree of familiarity. Had he not been there at some previous time? He knew he must choose one through which to enter a walk of life with unknown possibilities. There was no entry handle to the first door. It is not until Book Two, A Tree in the Desert, that Mohammed makes his decision. He walks through the one of his choosing without leaving his present time line, but feeling himself a changed man. His alliance with a Christian and a Jew through several mystical life events and dreams broadens his spiritual horizon and he finds new meaning beyond the bounds of his Muslim faith.
