Published 2015-01-09.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me is the escape from reality for a moment. I get to be my characters and live in a different world for a while. I don't have to deal with my everyday life even if it is just a fantasy I can only visit until i put my pen down or turn off my computer.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean the world to me. Many of them have been with me since I was just share my thoughts there myspace blogs and cheered me on through the entire publishing process for my first book. Without my fans I would have never been able to take moves that I have to advance my career.
What are you working on next?
I'm still working on the sequel to Long Distance Relations which will be titled Recovering From A Broken Heart. I'm also working on a new project about the trials and tribulations of families as well as another project that will bring my blog post to print.
Who are your favorite authors?
After high I really started reading more since I was being forced which was huge for me. There are two authors that I fell in love with there work and read there entire collections. Travis Hunter and RM Johnson, I credit them with giving me what I needed to begin my first book. I've been writing creatively since the fifth grade but never consider publishing until after I discovered the work of these two men. I actually reached out to both of them for advice when I was going through the process. Travis was very helpful and insightful. I never received a response from RM but with his fan base I can only imagine how many messages he gets asking for help.

I am a fan if E. Lynn Harris work as well as Carl Weber and Eric Pete.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I'm inspired by my desire to one day no longer have to punch a clock for someone else. If I keep putting one foot in front of the other I am still moving towards that goal.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend my time with my wife to be as much as work will allow. And when we are not together I with my first love, my camera. I've been into photography since the sixth grade and right now I'm learning studio photography and photo editing.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I watch the recommendation made by Kindel but mostly, i look for work by my favorite authors.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do! It was a free write assignment for reading class. I wrote about how my older sister and I would fight all the time and how my mother would punish us for it. The creativeness behind it caught the attention of my teachers and landed my in the spot light at school with an award from the principal.
What is your writing process?
I freewrite a lot which causes me to have to edit more then most writers. But with my current projects the freewriting made it easier to go back and switch over to a brainstorming mode because I already had a baseline for my stories.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first novel I read was this old book of my mom's. I think it was called A Night Out. It was the first time i read a book in its entirety without being told and that's when I realized reading can be enjoyable.
How do you approach cover design?
My first book I asked my graphic artist friends for help. Only one of them responded asking what the book was about. I gave him the synopsis and he did an amazing job. He was just building his company so I got a great price for the work he did. My second cover was a stock cover from the printer that was very fitting for the message the book conveyed.
What do you read for pleasure?
mostly urban fiction
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My phone or ipad with the kindle app
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I've seen more action from book reading and my facebook fan page. I'm currently in the process of exploring new techniques to get the results that all authors want and become a bestselling author.
