Interview with Matthew Hulland

Published 2013-09-10.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Every sunrise has the potential for adventure.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Earning money!
Describe your desk
A computer...on my lap. One day I hope to get a tray, then a desk, then a cat to entertain me while at my desk. Hopefully one day I'll even be able to get myself and executive pen holder, you know the ones, with lots of tubes and kind of looks like a rocket...one day.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Bury St Edmunds. it really is a lovely town but when you are young you don't appreciate it so you will do all you can to get out, like moving to America.
When did you first start writing?
I kept my first travel diary when driving around Europe in an old VW Camper Van. I had read a couple of Bill Bryson books which inspired me to give it a go. I will hopefully release that book one day.
