Published 2013-10-27.
What are you working on next?
I will work on a novel.
Who are your favorite authors?
Charles Lamb, Hemingway, Sandra Cisneros, Rilke, and everyone with a nice piece of insightful literature are my favorites.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Work, church, the people I love
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Doing motherly chores, teaching, reading, and house chores
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I google them and hear from friends and blog.ishare communities.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was a poem in an English class (high school), "Where Did We All Come From?" It is about our own One powerful God!

My first fiction was, "Rebecca," a story in Filipino. It had several revisions on different workshops. I even came to the point of scaring myself and hiding a knife under the bed.

Rebecca is included in the book "30 Piling Kuwento 2003." The book is edited by Danilo Meneses (Katinig Writer's Group/Liwayway new writers) with an introduction by Reynaldo A. Duque (Hall of Fame Awardee Palanca Awards for Literature).
What is your writing process?
Way back when I was a paid writer, I wrote in the morning, at night - in almost every hour of day and night.

When I started to have blogs and became a member of the "I Share Community," I almost wrote 24.7. But now, at least three or four hours to rest my eyes.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I guess, I remember a lot like, The Tea Cup Whale, many various fairy tales, Crime and Punishment, some parables, the Land of Oz, etc.

I was happy reading all of them. It almost came true for me. Crime and Punishment scared me, but challenged me.

I feel stars in me.
How do you approach cover design?
I want it simple and happy.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Holy Bible is the best literature ever written.

Rilke's Letter's To A Young Poet translated by Stephen Mitchelle gives me a specific pattern for my own writing addressed to dearest students.

The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr. and with revisions of EB White

The Grolier Classics

Dictionaries (Webster, World Book, etc.)
What do you read for pleasure?
Poetry, Fiction, Nursery Rhymes
What is your e-reading device of choice?
tablets or laptop
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
the internet; social media, i share global community
Describe your desk
I have many desks, any table will do for me. I transfer from one table to another, but inside my room is a cluttered desk. As long, as I have books with me and pictures of Saints with me, I can write. I have one old PC in my room, a borrowed net book, one ordinary android, one ordinary CP, pens papers, water.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Manila. We visit my grandparents and relatives in the provinces ( on both my Dad and Mom's sides). I had lived with professional aunts and uncles; their friends, our helpers; all as one big community.

When I got married, we had our own cute little house (in a compound with my in laws). I was always left alone in the house with my kids and a helper. Nights are my moments of truth.
When did you first start writing?
My first manuscript published was, "From The Heart Of A Woman" (edited by Manuela Perez Samson) on Women's Journal Magazine. It was a vignette.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest books are ebooks, which are poetry collections. I could say they are about zeal and one true love.

Also, I have prayer prompts from the 150 Psalms, of which I wrote spontaneously and in a very short period of time (on my own set deadline). The zeal was intense, and I didn't know how I was able to do it, experimenting on various poetry structures, of which I believed that without God's grace, it would be impossible for me to do it.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
There is no other way for me, but to write. I always stay at home now. I am poor in Geography. The internet is the answer to my writing needs.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Let's pray I'd do good with Smashwords. It's my first time here.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I release joy. I feel so so good. I learn to share something for others to read, learn and be closer to their purpose in life. I hope I give them zeal or insight?

I thank God for the gift of writing. It is a vocation for me. It completes me to share good literature. Literature in all forms.

They mean my life? I pray they'd feel loved. So shall I write...
