It's a continuation of the Dimensions Saga. I wanted to get back more into the medieval fantasy aspect and less into family life. I always throw in humor, but I wanted a darker tone in the last of the Dimensions' books. It's also time to see Kyrin start to step up more as nobility, and for the kids to grow up.

I've always written stories. When I had a rather 'low' year, I ended up writing 7 books in a series that completely engulfed my life. It was my break-away from the everyday norm. I got curious about it's quality and posted the first book to an indie colony. The response was fantastic! I had readers begging for more. I also had a death threat e-mail that said I better not publish it. The death threat was actually why I pushed it out to the public. Maybe I have a little Emily in me! I really want to help others forget about money problems, or health problems, or anything negative in their lives. If I can help one person cope, then my job is done.

Smashwords has been paramount! I was lost when it came to publishing. I wanted to indie publish because the companies that wanted my books wanted me to change them (one wanted me to add erotica, one wanted me to add God). I searched for indie websites and Smashwords caught my eye. They helped me not only publish to Smashwords, but then they sent it out to Apple, Barnes & Noble, and Sony, which became my three biggest markets in both the US and overseas. Now that they've expanded, I have a solid fan base that continues to grow.

The fan e-mails!! I love nothing more than getting letters from fans explaining how my books have helped them. For instance, I got an e-mail from a lady going through chemotherapy. She's not allowing herself to read my books unless she's in chemo. She said she looks forward to it! She told me that my books help her forget about the chemo and how sick she is. That right there makes it all worth it.

Everything! They are what keeps me writing. When I get a bad review, they pull me back up.

I'm still writing in the Dimensions Saga, and I have a spin-off from the Heku Series that delves into the Valle more. I've been enjoying meeting up with my old heku friends again in that book. I also have some ideas about a new book where a hired assassin meets a computer hacker. Hmmm... the possibilities.

J.R.R. Tolkien will probably always be my favorite. C.S. Lewis is a close second. I enjoy a lot of diversity. I love reading Shakespeare, Tolstoy, and even Hawthorne, along with Stephen King.

Does coffee count? I get a lot of inspiration from my kids.

I'm so busy with work and kids, that I don't get a lot of time for hobbies. I'm a HUGE Denver Broncos fan, but I also enjoy a good game of D&D. I do a lot of crafts with the kids too. I sew, cross-stitch, and even crochet once in a while. On the side I'm a big MMORPGer.

I work for a large school district, so the teachers and staff are always exchanging book ideas. None of them know I write though! I'm a closet author. I usually hear about new books through word of mouth. One teacher suggested my own books once. I just blushed and tried to act casual.

Yes, I do. It was horrible! I was living in Prague at the time. The story was about a teenage girl who wakes up completely alone in the world. I re-read it a while back and that entire story needs to get burned and forgotten.

I'm unique in how I write, at least that's what I've been told. I type quickly, about 150 wmp. I sit down in front of a computer and my imagination just goes wild. It's like watching a movie, and whatever I see, I write. I've never used outlines or notes. It's just that movie in my head. The character's personality, language, and actions are all set up in that movie, and it flows along. It's hard to describe, but that's what happens! I wrote Dimensions Saga in a 3-day weekend when my kids were gone. I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, and all I could do was play this fascinating movie in my imagination while I typed.

Covers are my nemesis. I'm an author, not an artist. The first covers were done in Photoshop and were all very generic and unimaginative. I've recently hired someone to help me, and the covers are much better. I want covers that grab a reader. Because I'm an indie author, I'm not well known enough to be sought out. Covers are the first impression!
