Interview with Turquoise Morning Press

How long have you been in business?
Turquoise Morning Press became a business in February, 2010. We published a couple of "test" books (re-releases of previously published titles belonging to the owner) in April/May 2010. That May, TMP offered its first contract -- a three book contract for a trilogy -- to romance author Renee Vincent for her Emerald Isle series. We have steadily added authors and titles to our publishing house over the past three years.
What genres do you publish?
We publish popular fiction. We do acquire and publish a large number of romance titles, but you can also find women's fiction, mystery, steampunk, young adult/new adult, mainstream and erotic titles on our list.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
TMP is grateful for Smashwords. We cannot imagine doing the work we do without the tools and platforms that Smashwords provides for indie authors and publishers. As a publisher, I recommend Smashwords to any of my authors who also desire to publish indie works on their own. I often will say, "Start with Smashwords." We are very excited about the distribution reach that continues to grow, and the new options for pre-orders.
Are you open for submissions?
Currently, we are closed to outside submissions. We have an in-house group of authors who are prolific and deliver. We do, occasionally, have calls for special projects, and that is a good way to break into Turquoise Morning Press. Check the submissions guidelines on our website for more information -- http://www.turquoisemorningpress.com
