Anthony Willmore


Biography

Born in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia and educated at Lord Milner and Krugersdorp High, Anthony Willmore has lived all his life in South Africa. He joined the navy at the age of sixteen and also served in the armed forces with the 17th Field engineers. He then ran his own retail outlets for eighteen years and sailed a junk rigged yacht over weekends. He won an award for the essay Mary Lou; a letter written by a young woman to her mother. He then wrote A Dog's Thoughts, The Hunter, A Swallow's Tale and The Soul of a Woman. He lives in Wilderness.
