What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Creating a world from nothing. Building everything from what the air smells like to the way someone walks through a crowd to the traditions of a whole new species.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Harry Potter series (all of them collectively) because of the decadent world Jo created, Sense and Sensibility because I am pea green with envy over the way Jane uses conversation, Youth in Revolt for all its truly terrible and reprehensible but hilarious hijinks, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland because nonsense makes us smarter, and Jane Eyre because she shows us that doing what's right even in the face of heartbreak is always the best choice.
