We can only guess because we are not i the group. As a matter of fact we can't keep up with them –remotely. Here is what a conversation would most likely be like when these spotlight celebrities get together.......maybe??

I don't know how this one made it thru the meatgrinder for paragraph structure and typos. Storyline is interesting but it is not much .....what you would call "in line" with therest. A good copyedit followed with some re-write might improve the downloads. Good luck

Interesting. I read it on my NOOK while doing a BM and finished both at the same time.

We read gthis one today. In a word-- Good. I read Erni's Bio and said to myself--self--this guy could be your brother!! I'm with Ernie on several counts--I can't spell- I love to write fiction and I dislike ( using a polite word here) Facebook, myspace and twittie. The short-short Ernie reviewed of mine was a gasser to hook attention and count downloads for shock value--never intended to exhibit writing ability--just twitter, facebook and myutube chatter--honestly, I'm waiting on the day when these kids will post on FB their BM's by the hour.

He did it again! Winchester gets you riding high and moving along than then---what? his character Harold goes home?? --reminds me of my college days. Good read, tactfully achieved erotica.

downloaded this one just to see what Kornrath's skill was that makes him a winner in the Epub market. I don't care for macabre jazz or horror so the storyline didn't interest at all. The writing style is interesting and may be the key to his success. Glad it was free.

Vain attmpt to rewite history by making Adolph survic=ve into the 50/s........Won't work. If the guy had survived, he would have been hunted and shot by Simon Weisenthau. Factual enough when it comes to the developement of the electric torpedo but beyond that, the fantesy--not research---becomes streached.

Whew, Stacy's REVIEW was almost longer than Catherine's story. Good character structure and they work well with each other to make the story associate with children of that age. Obviously, Catherine is a Brit and the story is well done and holds the reader's interst to the last page. The story has a great hook in it for a sequel.
  • The Gaines Agenda on April 26, 2011

In a word---DYNAMITE! Blaine Zaid has written a novel that IMHO would compete for space on the NYBS list with Dan Brown, Vince Flynn or Dave Baldacci. His story is built from the begining to keep the reader chronologically abrest of the happenings as the story unfolds. Zaid has a gift like the unique storytellers W.E.B. Griffin and others. Robert Gaines is only a thin disguise for the boy wonder Bill Gates and that is detected in the first explaination of the main character. Zaid describes Gaines's lifstyle to the point of actually making you think he is perhaps his neighbor. The storyline is factually accurate and the topic of the embedded software makes the story even more believeable. The twist in the final chapters even lets you guess with some clues who the POUS is that Zaid is writing about. This is, in the true sense, why Smashwords lets authors place their books online for free---it definately made me want to look for more novels by this author---and I expect to pay for the next one!

Lenny has a winner here! All the characters, beginning with Dwyane and his spectacular single sex life and description of his playmates is a book in itself. Then there is Phil. You have to read the story to really get into Phil's mind. The dialogue, especially Aisha's, is done so well that you actually think you might have married her yourself. Storytelling is an art. To write as you would tell a story is another talent that is rare. Lenny has that gift. This one was free and it served its purpose well---it showed me that this is an author that can write dialogue that makes you think that he is talking right into your face. We'll buy the next one for sure.
  • Death on a Small, Dark Lake on May 11, 2011
    star star star
Well, Lenny ALMOST had a story here that was interesting to follow. That is, if you like canoes, endless portages and a plot that starts on page one and you still do not understand even on the last page. I liked his previous story—death on the island but this one was quite different. The humorous Canadian vernacular and the constant running metaphors, along with the character Bob’s So-Ho accent and dialogue require going back over the line a few times to get the drift but the storyline continues. It was going well until the character Pica made her entrance. This turned the story from a story well written literature form to erotica on a canoe. Her first lines where she meets chubby Win on the dock holding the cat and asks “would you like to pet my pussy?” should tell the reader where this was going. It was not enough she teased the entire group with innuendos but the constant rehash of who she was boefing and about giving the cop a BJ in the cruiser was not necessary. The discussion on her thoughts of the Character George’s nine inch dick and doing her own Uncle were superfluous to the story, I thought. I’d like to say something nice about the story as Eric Winchester usually says;--- It was short.
  • THE WRITER'S LIFE on May 15, 2011
    star star star
WOW. If that is a writer's life,....excuse me. I want, need friends. Travers, who I have never read before, either in paperback or any of his columns ( Hmmm, wonder why? I lived in the L.A. area from 1946 to 2005) Jim Murray I appreciate, Bo Bolinsky is a story in himself. Travers was evidently close friends with Hunter Thompson--the guy we called "The psycho behind the stallag 17 fence" When I visited Aspen several winters including 1969. Thompson's voice was certainly sui generis and his crowd of friends--evidently including Travers, were not considered locals. Back to this book; opinionated, somewhat racist and certainly politically biased has nothing to do with a writer's life in general IMHO. It is a review of a guy that was a sports writer and in that catagory of journalism was introduced to several people that he felt free to write opinions about. The book has too many pages, rambles from his hots for Sarah Palin to Halberstam (another friend in the Thompson clan tent)to rants about Tom Wolfe's work. I lasted to page 1276 where he started giving writing instructions on plot and characters. I do not know if Travers was trying to compete wordwise with War and Peace for number of useless pages or just wanted a big novel but I had to be a quitter by then. Maybe I should have gone on to page 1800 before the multitude of reviews following and found the reason for this effort?

Its obvious Blake likes to write and write well. He presents the story well, his characters are believable and he has a good plot and ending. There was nothing about this manuscript that would keep it from selling well as a short in any market.

Jeff has it wired. I'm late in writing this review but perhaps that is better because I just checked my SEO for two of my sites that I completely revamped after reading his book and---Yes--- it works!. At least in my case. Jeff truly has the interest of his fellow authors at heart because he gives you what has taken him (obviously) some time to learn and put into practice. Definate five star material.

An absolute masterpiece of work explaining the brain, its parts, function and ultimately its use in human behavior. Andy Habermacher is a genius in explaining the relative functions of the brain and its different sections. The book can be read, re-read and still there are parts that are new every time you open to a new page or one you have read. I placed the book on my Nook carried it with me as I wrote my novel that related to computers and the human brain. It was a main reference used and then I printed out the entire story and read it as printed media making notes for reference. This is a quiet little gem hiding in the free section of Smashwords that is a treasure to read and quote from. The results of the many authoritative tests that Andy quotes moves the reader closer and closer to understanding human behavior I found the section on rational processing and emotional intelligence very informative and interesting. Again, Herbermacher makes a very complex human organ simple to understand and appreciate. Well done!

Brian; For what it is worth--the meatgrinder and epubchecker do not like MS2010. Hidden code I guess. I have three books I'm trying (now for about 5 months) to get past it for preme status. They say there is a text box...after having three people look at the manuscript and four other authors review the file which I provided them on a flash drive they all comment--"What text box???....where??" I reply --THAT is my question. Other than these skimpy details, its a decent guide.
