The author M.A.Buth has studied ethnology, languages and computer science and after retirement from the IT business now lives lives in a small, 1000 year old, mountain village of that very Taunus area - close to the Rhine River - and has been inspired by the everyday images of the beautiful, yet mysterious landscape and it´s inhabitants.
He there collects the local devonian fossils on his walks, through the woods and captures the images of the seasons with his camera.
"This ground is fulll of history. On the fields there are the celtic graves, several thousand years old. Then just behind my house there was the limes, the border of the roman empire on his maximum expansion. You can find traces of the Romans almost anywhere in the woods. Looking out of my office window (which is not a real office, just the place I write and work), I can see the forrest where the Hitler´s bunker "Adlerhorst" is well hidden and diguised as a farm and a castle. I even used to work in those buildings when I was a marketingmanager for a IT comapny that now uses the mansion. Also the US army was here for decades, hiding in this dense forrest. Sometimes I think: Who will be next?"
"I write about real places and real people" he says. "You could come over and visit them, you would be amazed how alive they are. As for the story I will tell you - don´t expect me to say, if it all really happened that way"
The main subject he reflects about is the wonder of life, the miracle of birth, and the inevitable death.
The question remains: "What is all good for, if in the end nothing remains?"
