Love Knot is a lively and insightful snapshot into Irish culture at a time when it was emerging from the domination of the Catholic church in Ireland. The story is both entertaining and challenging as it captures the Social and Cultural influences which shaped the Ireland of the 1980's. While the actions of the Protagonist may seem dizzy at times, she embodies and represents the Madonna/whore duality within the psyche of Irish women of the time, and of which there was no easy expression. This book is much more than a love knot, it is a cultural reflection of a particular era in Irish life. A must read.
