  • Dark Pilgrim Rising: Book one of the Dark Pilgrim Series on July 26, 2012

This book is genuine proof that awesome work can occur outside of the big six publishers. The story is set far enough in the future to not become dated and it is an adventure worth the investment.
  • Haywire on Nov. 04, 2012

Haywire By Justin R. Macumber After hearing the trailers for Haywire over many episodes of The Dead Robot Society I decided that it deserved a read. Actually it didn't take that much persuasion as I'm pretty big into Space Opera, techno thriller Science Fiction with lots of military action thrown into the mix. Hmmm. Super-soldiers have been developed, to fight off an alien race bent on annihilating humankind, by a mad scientist who is long gone with his technological secrets. In the course of preventing the human race from being destroyed by it's saviors a teenage boy is transformed, a lonely woman finds love and a heroic soldier finds peace. I enjoyed the flow of the story, the development of the characters and the resolution to the problem. Liked the book and think that it deserves a prequel.
  • Black White and Shades of Greyy on May 13, 2013

Black, White and Shades of Greyy by E. M. Frear This is an epic fantasy in a world named Elisandria where the two main species are Elves and human. Separated from her parents at the youngish elfin age of a hundred due to a series of unfortunate events, Greyylene climbs in the pirating world of men until she is a Captain. Along the way tragedy befalls her as she witnesses her parents slain before her eyes, launches herself into the world of dark elfin magic, she encounters extremely large cat people while possibly under the influence of really strong potions and makes herself into a damn nuisance for the Imperial Navy. She does manage to brush up with romance along the way but I wonder if or when she will reveal how much of a cougar she is to the human apple of her eye. As the first in a series this book does leave the reader wanting more and from what I can tell of the ending book two will not be a carbon copy with sequel stamped on it. I enjoyed this book and I recommend it to readers teenaged and more aged.
  • Blood and Bane - The Dragon Sage Chronicles on May 23, 2013

This story has revived my interest in reading some fantasy after abstaining for more than thirty years. The Realms of Arydd paints a society in which Dragonkind rules benevolently over human and Dragon. The safety and health of the land come first in all decisions made. The bad, dark, evil, greedy,..., side is represented by a strain of humans once exiled who draw upon the energy of the land to achieve their goals at the expense of others. Thankfully the author has provided a glossary of names at the back of the book to help the reader to stay sorted. I found myself cheering for Karandra, a Wyse-woman, not the main character. That's how I roll. I encourage all to read this work.
