Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in southern California and I moved at least six times before I was eight years old. This means I grew up not knowing what it was like to live in the same house for years and years, so you could say I know the gypsy lifestyle. My characters don't tend to have strong ties to home because, quite frankly, I don't understand what that would feel like.
When did you first start writing?
I've been writing since I was about six years old, but didn't finish my first full-length novel until seventh grade. That novel will probably never see the light of day because, well, it was heavily inspired by(read: practically stolen from) Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Chrono Trigger.
