Arthur A Perkins
Biography
Once upon a time, in a former life, I had a Literary Agent who is now world class. Around the same time, I was paid to write 3 plays for a well-known Theatre Director. In no time at all, my first novel was published.
These succeeding events, spread over 2/3 years, were so disappointing that I then gave up writing for 20+ years.
Now decrepit and bed-ridden, I am making a late comeback. If I can attract a few readers with this off-beat piece, I will proceed to upload a couple of full-size novels (equally off-beat).

A Drinking Man
by Arthur A Perkins
Price: $0.99 USD. 3520 words.
Published on March 10, 2010. Nonfiction.
My father was a drinking man, cheerful among his fellow boozers, miserable as sin every hungover morning. From the age of twenty, I worked alongside him for 5 long years. What a nightmare!
This short memoir is lightened by a few comical aspects. However, serious drinkers are rarely amusing and never reliable. Yes, I am biased.

After all, it is a known fact that none of the original gang of vanity-, sorry, self-publishers ever ventured North of Watford.
With apologies to USA literati who may still love all things Bloomsbury.
And on the seventh day... God Lost Patience

This small novella (10,250 words) describes the final 7 days in the life of Jobson, an alcoholic who makes daily visits to Deliria.
Each of Jobson's nightmares (d.t. episodes) is based upon a mixture of his past misfortunes and various male insecurities.
This dark comedy is the product of a strange mind and, contrary to rumour, is not sponsored by Alcoholics Anonymous.
