I enjoyed this second book in what I hope will be a series of Thomas Flashman's adventures. It reminded me of the Richard Sharpe stories by Bernard Cornwell. Mr. Brightwell certainly tells a thumping great story with historical accuracy and lots of action in several of Wellington's indian battles. So I can heartily recommend this book to any one who is interested in the military events in the Napoleonic era. Please mr. Brightwell, carry on!
Really a nice book. Great story, well told. Not too many action scenes but an interesting and often amusing insight through the eyes of a young midshipman in all aspects of everyday life on board, from trollops in harbour, the mechanics of a square rigged ship, to firing rockets. I do hope that mr. Bertram will continue the story of Ben who eventually becomes an admiral.
