Biography

Demetris Dennis Taylor aka Big Meach hails from Detroit, MI where his passion for the performing arts and community activism was nurtured and cultivated. Big Meach has served on the planning committee of "Hotter Than July", Detroit's Black Gay Pride celebration from 2000-2005 where he spearheaded the Transgender Summits.

He has served on the boards of Transgender Michigan and Transgender Detroit and The Performer's Awards of Detroit.

He has been a voice for the Trans community and the Big Boi community at many town hall meetings and sit ins across metro Detroit, including creating training programs for The Center for Creative Studies, The University of Michigan LGBT studies curriculum taught by Dr. Kofi Adoma, and a transgender training module for The Detroit Police Department.

He established The House of Divinity, a non-profit organization specializing in the education and the equity building merits of transgender culture. In 2007, Big Meach migrated to Atlanta and has become one of the voices to empower both the trans community and the Big Boi community alike. In 2009, he created and hosts his own online radio program, "Dishing Tea with Big Meach" on the Blog Talk Radio Network. He also is the author of "Awakenings-Epiphanies Along a Spiritual Journey" and is one of the columnist for The Big Brothas Network web magazine.
