Dawn Brotherton is an award-winning author and featured speaker at writing and publishing seminars. She completed her first novel in 2010. When she realized how hard it was to attract the attention of large publishing houses and how much money they received from her hard work, she decided to go it on her own.
As a colonel in the Air Force, Dawn was no stranger to hard work. She set up Blue Dragon Publishing, LLC and started slowly taking on other authors. She retired in October 2016 and really ramped up her business, publishing five new books and adding six new authors to her stable within the first year. The focus of Blue Dragon Publishing is to help a writer’s dream become a reality. Dawn’s focus is mentoring people through the process and helping them reach their goals.

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote (worth reading) was a short story in college. I wrote it for a boy I was dating and it was about a dream...or not. That was part of the fun.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love James Patterson. I will read pretty much anything he puts on paper. I also enjoy the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz. I like his quirky characters and how he makes them seem so normal.
