Bohdan Hawrylyshyn
Biography
Dr. Bohdan Hawrylyshyn (born in a village Koropets, Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine) is a noted economist and political scientist, member of the Club of Rome, World Academy of Art and Science, has five honorary doctorates. He was professor and director of the International Management Institute affiliated with the University of Geneva (now IMD, Lausanne).
He has lectured, chaired international conferences, acted as consultant to governments and multinational corporations in some 70 countries on all continents, authored
Since 1989 he has devoted most of his time to Ukraine, creating and still chairing the International Management Institute (IMI-Kyiv), acted as advisor to four Chairmen of the Parliament (Leonid Kravhuk, Ivan Plushch, Oleksandr Moroz and Volodymyr Lytvyn), to first President of Ukraine (Leonid Kravchuk) and three Prime-Ministers (Viktor Yushchenko, Anatoliy Kinakh, Viktor Yanukovych).
The Geneva-based author and scholar had also founded and chaired International Advisory Board to the Parliament of Ukraine, International Centre for Policy Studies in Kyiv, is active in scout-movement, was Head of the Council of National Organisation of Scouts of Ukraine – Plast, and is a Baden-Powell fellow.
