After seven years running the guest house and smallholding on Sark, all the family toured New Zealand for two years in a Bedford van, returning to Sark to lease the business. They emigrated with Roy to New Zealand in 1976 where Chris took a District Nursing post in Kumeu near Auckland. Sadly the marriage ended in 1984; Chris returning to Sark to be with a new partner, and Ken eventually remarrying.
After the death of her partner, Chris returned to New Zealand. She now lives on her own on Waiheke Island, off the coast near Auckland, New Zealand. Son Roy with wife and family are living quite near.

On arrival in Auckland, as neither of us could drive, we had to learn. I took a job as resident Matron of a small Medical and Post-op Hospital in Epsom. Suitably qualified we then toured all over NZ in a Bedford van; working when the money ran out. One job was driving horse carriages in the South Island. This book will follow our adventures.
