Biography

Cliff Bumgardner is a writer, filmmaker, podcaster, and professional creative weirdo. He’s known for his work in a variety of media including screenwriting, short fiction, and comic books, where he was selected as a winner of the first-ever Millarworld Talent Search Competition by comics legend Mark Millar. He lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with an old typewriter and way too many books.

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. It was a 3 page Hobbit ripoff I hand-wrote on unruled paper when I was 12. I submitted it as a homeschool assignment, and my dad gave me a C. I hope I've gotten a little better since then.
What do you read for pleasure?
Just about anything I can get my hands on. I'm a Stephen King addict and have a massive library of his books--pretty much every major thing he's ever written. I also love crime stuff by guys like Stieg Larsson and Thomas Harris, both of whom have cost me a lot of sleep over the years. On top of all that I'm a major comics geek and am pretty much always making my way through a stack of Batman books and other goodies. So yeah, if there was a rehab for book addicts, I'd be there.
