Rosa Christian came to the writing of poetry rather late in life, after her children struck out on their own journeys. She has regularly won or placed in poetry competitions since that time. She has self-published, “My Fish Loves Me”, a collection of her early works and “Australia…my heart”, inspired by a recent solo, driving holiday around Australia. She has recently finished studying for her Master of Arts (Writing) at James Cook University, Townsville. She continues to write - poetry, short stories and currently a novel.

This anthology of poems is inspired, for the main part, by my seven month road trip around Australia in 2009. While most definitely have their feet firmly planted on Australian soil, many can easily translate across international boundaries.
I hope you enjoy the poems and that they inspire you to get on the road and have a look for yourself.
The bulk of my poems find their inspiration in the natural world. There's nothing I love more than lolling around just enjoying being a part of it all.

Death affects and comes to us all. It is silly and futile to ignore it. To find peace we must embrace it as a part of our journey while on this plane of existence. Death, whether of a person, animal, plan, way of life or thing, is the portal for birth or re-birth.
A selection of some of the author's favourties from her other books and some new verses for you, dear reader, to think on.
Passionate, playful, painful and sometimes psychotic.
We all have been the happy recipients or sad victims of relationships in love/lust in all her many forms.
Here the author explores this most wondrous, life-affirming and yet sometimes destructive emotion.
