D.R.H. Ashby

Biography

As a father of triplets, Doug was fully involved in raising his sons and this included story time. Doug’s wife Jane, read to the boys, while Doug made up the stories he told them, during the early years of their lives.
“Three out of three” is an attempt to capture the essence of the stories that were told to the brothers as the original versions have somewhat faded with time; after all the triplets were born in 1979 and they now have children of their own.
As first time author/ illustrator he has found writing this book a rewarding experience and now has more books for the series in mind.
Now retired, Doug taught practical art for 25 years and is now able to enjoy creating his own works. Writing and illustrating these stories has enabled him to fulfil the long held dream of being an illustrator. This book has enabled Doug to combine his passion for natural history with a touch of fantasy.
