Darla Luke

Biography

It's dark. Four people and one uninvited guest sit around the campfire, deep in the woods. An owl hoots a warning in the distance. One brave joker tells a ghost story about a lost camper who joins unsuspecting couples like themselves, looking for a body to inhabit … if only for the night.

The campers, including the story teller, shivers in the crisp autumn night and huddles closer to the fire. Except the guest, who just smiles as he drifts toward the story teller.

Darla Luke spent her childhood making up stories in her head, when she wasn't devouring every book she could get her hands on. If someone would have told her she'd be a writer when she grew up, she would have laughed herself silly.

Now, writing is her passion, and she loves telling stories (especially ghost stories) and believes they all should have a happy ending. Just because life has an uncertain outcome doesn't mean that books or short stories should.
