S.F. Swem

Biography

Born in 1957. Steven has a saying these days. “I have to live in reality and when reality is done with me for the day, it’s time to get away.” Growing up it was the woods and his imagination. Then new technology entered his life, color TV. WOW. It did not get better than that. Saturday morning cartoons. 5 in the morning till 1 in the afternoon. Heaven. Then someone gave him a blue covered book. Tom Swift. That was it, he was done, he was hooked and became an addict. If it was print he had to have it. Books, comics and new technologies. As Bristol County Jr was fond of saying. “It was the coming thing.” He still has his first bought copy of Ann McCaffrey, The Ship Who Sang, Robert Heinlien, Have Spacesuit Will Travel and Tom Swift sitting on the bookshelf. Authors that helped in that getaway, Anne McCaffrey, Robert Heinlien, Paul Anderson, Terry Brooks, and Edgar Rice Burroughs, who gave them the name of their daughter.

Smashwords Interview

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Our imagination was going nuts and we decided to write it down. The Demesne series is the first joint venture. Writing is a release of tension though it can cause its own when a scene or action just doesn’t seem to work. Great diversion from real life. We have fun acting out a scene at times working out dialogue. The greatest joy is knowing someone enjoyed the story after it has been released to the public.
What are you working on next?
Currently going through edit and rewrite is a Science fiction tale ofr space adventure. "Retaking Martis" takes place between a space junk yard and the planet Martis and our adventurer's help liberate a planet from invaders.
