Douglas Robbins

I began writing in school after a teacher asked us to write a poem. In that eight line poem I found a power in words that I had never found anywhere else.

Now after many jobs in various industries from admissions to sales, and from construction to insurance, I started writing more seriously. A few years ago I decided I would take my chances with the only profession that ever made sense. Though it wasn't so much a career move, it was a move out of necessity. So I left my thankless job after years waking up sick and dreading everyday. Though with little money in my 401k, if I was going to live or die it was going to be by the pen.

The Reluctant Human is my first novel in a planned series of three. I have also written Max Johnny, Dawn, and Leaves Piled High.
