I'm really not sure what to say about this book without giving away the "punch line". I liked it, but then again I didn't like it. The world, situation and characters were interesting, but I didn't like a lot of what happened. It was a very fast read, I read it in one evening. Has a lot of action. It packs a months worth of action into a few days.

Interesting take on vampires and drug addiction. Who knew. Brutal short story featuring vampires and red necks. I enjoyed the story, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like bloody horror stories.

The plot is very straight forward. I agree with a number of the other reviewers that the young adult audience this book is meant for will probably enjoy it. That said: Shuler's take on the vampire legends is very interesting and I liked it. Through out the book I went back and forth between enjoyment and not liking it at all. I found Kai irritating and too clingy most of the time, then he'd do or say something and I would like him. A very fast read, I read it in about 4 hours. I can recommend this for your teen age girls. I read a number of books of this type when I was a teen and really enjoyed them. There is a cliff hanger ending and I really would like to know what happens in the next book.

I really liked this book, it caught my attention from the beginning. Interesting characters and plot twists. Ms. Linwood knows how to grab your attention and also how to make sure you come back for that second book. Quite the cliff hanger. Though like pointed out by some of the other reviewers, you need a different proof reader. It didn't detract from the story, but I had to pause and interpret some sentences before continuing.
