I just finished reading this wonderful story. While I thought the character development during the early chapters was lacking, the plot was captivating and the characters developed more as the story progressed. Upon completing the book, I was ready to pick up the next one written by this author. I am anxious to see what newer titles this author presents.

Gorinthians is a much better book, although characters in this one later turn up in Gorinthians, They are the same, but different, hence the incarnation on differnt worlds theme of these books. Shalilayo is a bit preachy, choosing to use a sledge hammer of ideas rather than the more subtle approach used in Gorinthians with the good and evil theme. Of course, once you've read Gorinthians, you recognize the irony of that last satement. Despite the sermon of the book, it is a pleasant read, with the ending being a bit disappointing due to its suddeness. I look forward to the next offering from this author.
