Elizabeth Kirke

Biography

Elizabeth Kirke has always loved writing and the ocean. It was inevitable that she'd combine the two! When she isn't writing or staring at the ocean, she's reading, baking, or crafting!

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I was drawing stories long before I knew how to write. I was probably 6 or 7 when I wrote my first story that I clearly remember. It was about a wolf family that goes on a picnic. When I was in 6th grade we did a project where we wrote and illustrated our own books and then received hard copies of them! I've been coming up with stories ever since.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My current project is the 3rd book in my More than Magic series, which was inspired by a cruise that I went on. After this I'll be moving on to a series that came to mind while I was wandering around a creepy antique shop by myself.

It has been five months since I found out that I’m a witch. Even my familiar, Rak, isn’t a replacement for spending time with the other magical beings I grew close with over the summer. A ski trip with them is exactly what I need to immerse myself in magic again. It’s wonderful being back with everyone without a vampire stalking us… but the slopes aren’t as peaceful as they seem.

I should have packed a stake. I thought a two-month cruise around Latin America would be filled with magical moments. I never imagined I’d be swimming with a mermaid or hiking through a rainforest with a werewolf. That is, until that fateful night when I met Thomas and the others out on deck and discovered that magic is real.
