Smashwords Interview

What is your writing process?
It depends on the material I am working on. Sometimes it begins with a note or two jotted down, then an outline. Other times, it just flows and I am entertaining myself as I write. I try to write every day. I also try not to make it a chore. I have several manuscripts I am working on and I often allow my mood to determine which one I dive into. As I get closer to completing a manuscript, I try to stay focused on it until it is finished. Then, I put it aside for a bit before revisiting it with a fresh set of eyes.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I cannot remember the very first story because I began reading at a very young age. Two of the earliest books I can remember are The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling, and Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. I remember being immediately enchanted by how what I read could completely take me out of where I was to someplace else. It was magical for me and still is.
