Frank Gilabert

Biography

Mr. Gilabert retired from Seiko Corporation of America after serving fifteen years in various capacities, including Executive Vice President, President of its non-timepiece division, and Vice President of Finance. During his career at Seiko, he directed activities in accounting, finance, information systems, legal and other administrative functions. In his capacity as President, he directed the operational activities of several product lines, including optical products, consumer electronics and computer products.

Prior to his career at Seiko, he was a partner in a large, public accounting firm for seven years. At the firm he was an audit partner and during his later years at the firm became partner in charge of management consulting services for the New York office and its entire northeastern region. During his years at the firm, he was involved in on-campus recruiting.

During his years at the accounting firm, he co-authored a book entitled Direct Costing published by AMACOM, a division of the American Management Association. He has also published several books regarding business career planning in the subjects of marketing, accounting, finance and information systems - these books are currently under study for the purpose of modification for future publication.

Mr. Gilabert is active in several community-based non-profit organizations functioning as a board member and/or financial advisor/treasurer. One of the organizations assists inner city high school students, in obtaining post-secondary educational opportunities. He has mentored several students and has conducted seminars on business subjects in the high schools targeted by the organization.
His research for this book involved extensive research with high school guidance counselors and college and university guidance and admissions personnel.
