Wow! Another great book from Scott Nicholson. I just recently discovered him and can honestly say he is fast becoming one of my favorites. This book only served to cement that feeling. What an imagination, and talent for writing. Parts of the Appalachians are isolated and indeed strange, and this story takes place in one of those areas. This was a very compelling read and had many elements that were woven into a tapestry of a great story. A story with a haunted house like no other, ghosts, and mountain people who still use the old ways to ward off evil could have come out trite and unintentionally humorous, but he pulled it off. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story with elements of the paranormal thrown in. You won't be disappointed. Very well written. Nicely done, Scott ... nicely done.
