  • The Lace Thief on March 13, 2014

The Lace Thief is a sweet, swift romance coupled to a mystery that kept me well-entertained.The thought of being swept back in time is engaging, but Raby goes beyond the fantasy to address the heroine's real difficulties of muting her outgoing personality to fit the manners and mores of 1897 as she is thrown immediately into formal social situations. Thankfully for her, a gallant hero is at hand to help her out!
  • Country Club Wives on Oct. 15, 2014

Country Club Wives starts with a “wow!” moment and continues the momentum throughout this well-paced story. This country club Peyton Place left me thinking, “Goodness! I know these characters!” some very well, others by acquaintance. Throughout the romantic turmoil, the bright spot, for me, was the quest to build a no-kill animal shelter. This was where Tish McLean was strongest. Here, her true self was really evident, with her passion and insecurities in full view as she struggles to blend both sides of her life in a satisfying whole, despite a selfish, appearance-obsessed husband and in-laws. Sandra Gurvis brings the story full circle during the several years of the storyline, to a very satisfying conclusion. This is a fun read.
