Georgette Todd

Biography

Georgette has many years of personal and professional experience in the U.S. Foster Care system. Her writing has been featured on NPR, the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Diego Union-Tribune as well as other publications such as local papers and child welfare booklets for California Youth Connection and Casey Family Program. She also created a short film for the Y.O.U.T.H. Training Project, which has been seen all over the country.

Currently, Georgette is a freelance writer and author of the acclaimed book, "Foster Girl, A Memoir." Recently, she interviewed Monroe Martin, a finalist on NBC's Last Comic Standing about his time in foster care. Georgette brings her expertise and direct style to enlighten audiences about foster children and their outcomes. She is one of the top bloggers for The Chronicle of Social Change, founded by Newsweek and Huffington Post reporter, Daniel Heimpel. Mr. Heimpel has co-produced a show on foster care with Lisa Ling for Oprah's Network.
