Biography
Gerald M. Siegel grew up in Brooklyn, New York under the watchful eyes of his parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and neighbors. In 1953 he turned twenty-one, married Eileen Bass, and graduated from Brooklyn College, all within a week. Four years later he completed a PhD program at the university of Iowa in Speech Pathology and Audiology. During his forty-year academic career he received awards for teaching, scientific writing, and research. Siegel also published fiction and essays in numerous magazines and journals. The stories in this volume are set in Brooklyn, Iowa, North Dakota, Kansas, Minnesota, Israel, and fictional lands of the imagination. He lives in Edina, MN with his wife, Eileen and may be contacted at Siegel@umn.edu.
