ROBERT IS A RETIRED MENTAL HEALTH NURSE, WHO TRAINED IN THE 1970'S AND ENJOYED THAT PERIOD SO MUCH HE FELT A REAL URGE TO SHARE SOME OF HIS EXPERIENCES OF A BYGONE ERA IN THE TREATMENT OF MENTAL ILLNESS
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
II grew up in Lincoln, England. My writing is mostly influenced by my upbringing, which wasn't always happy, probably because I was a very naughty boy who enraged my dad and he felt the need to give me a good hiding from time to time, but then when he left home it caused a different scenario of a lad who thought that he was in charge of the home.
When did you first start writing?
I started seriously writing around five years ago, although I'd tried to write a few books in my early years which lay dormant for a long time and which my sister still keeps in her cupboard somewhere.
Rob and Janet were two orphans who had run away from home twice and were given into the care of a family that really learned to love them, and Rob and Janet loved them back.
Of course there are adventures in their story that make the whole experience even better.
The rather sad recollection of a nurse who worked on night duty in a hospital that cared for the elderly mentally ill. The account tells of how things developed during the time that the nurse worked at that hospital.
The story of how a sixteen year old boy with a purile and somewhat perverse sense of humour got involved with the Pentecostal church.Telling how it changed the rest of his life, but caused all sorts of inner conflicts, mostly due to him having had a horrible childhood.
