At last a wine expert focuses on wines people actually drink. This is a fabulous book for the average person who just likes wine. It is very informative and fun. You will probably learn more from the introduction and the glossary than you ever knew about wine. But it's done in a very down to earth, witty style that is easy to read and understand. (No references to gooseberry flavors or other tastes you don't recognize.) The focus is on whether the wine is any good, is it worth the money it's selling for, and what food does it go with. It also gives you real insight about the producer of the wine. Exactly what you want to know about a bottle before you buy it. A must read for the 98% of us who are not collecting cases of thousand dollar Bordeaux.
