Smashwords Interview

What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Book signings at independent book stores, libraries, and other organizational groups. Talking to the public about my book and hearing their stories about their ancestry and the lives they chose in the US is very uplifting.
Describe your desk
My desk is a hodge podge of things that spread out to other areas. It's time for me to get a new desk with more organizational space for my printer, paper, pens, paper clips etc. and reference books. It would save me a lot of time hunting around for the things I need.

  • Her Sister's Secret on Aug. 20, 2020

Her Sister’s Secret by Mary Kate Brogan is a classic romance theme that tells the story of Jenny Eglington who once fell in love with Roland LaPierre as a teenager. At the time, their age difference was a factor, and Roland turned to Jenny’s sister with whom he had an affair. The lovers eventually went their separate ways, but unbeknownst to Roland, Jenny’s sister was pregnant. She never tells Roland she had a baby and after she’s involved in a fatal accident, she swears Jenny to secrecy. Now, many years later, and after Jenny has assumed the role of mother to her sister’s child, Roland returns and sparks fly between him and Jenny. Brogan draws the reader in with this story of the enduring nature of love. It’s also a story about secrets that damage the intended recipients instead of protecting them. It involves loss and how the characters create a fictitious world that robs them of happiness. There are twists and turns in the story that I didn’t see coming. I recommend this novel that is an emotionally satisfying journey from beginning to end.
