Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes. I was in elementary school and I read a novel by the western author Louis L'Amour. I usually read a lot of comics because I like to see pictures when I am reading, so to read a novel without pictures, was a departure from what I expected as a reader. However, it opened up a new world of imagery for me, as I had to imagine based on the author's use of language, my own visuals. It brought excitement and at the same time, it also provided the impetus to write and develop stories on my own.
How do you approach cover design?
I normally indicate to the designer what I'd like to see highlighted on the cover, and in most cases, I ended up getting what I desired.
