Smashwords book reviews by Robert Smith

  • Bodelia's Anguish on June 01, 2015

I was not sure where I was being taken when I started this short story, but after the author starts to build her world, the story puts its hooks into you and pulls you along. Bodelia's character is developed nicely and the supporting characters as well. S.D. Stevens writes with passion and the story evokes emotion. I really enjoyed this and found myself wanting more.
  • Cross Your Heart on July 09, 2015

I brought this on vacation with me and loved it. Six university students pulled a school prank which got out of hand and someone had to take the fall. This story is a well written and suspenseful who-done-it that will keep you guessing. The author does a great job of painting scenes, developing characters and drawing you in. I highly recommend this novel to anyone who loves; crime / psychological / thriller / suspense / murder / mysteries.
  • Sixty-Four Days, A Sea Story on Aug. 07, 2015

It is clear that the author draws upon his personal experiences in this very vivid sea adventure. Malcolm Torres is able to put you in the moment with terrific imagery. I really enjoyed his writing style and pace. He does a great job of painting his characters onto your imagination. This is an action adventure that is well worth the read. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
