The Other Side (Literary Fiction)

(Disclosure: I've read and reviewed The Other Side for a different site also. This is my Smashwords review.) RV Martin has written from a perspective of love and understanding, for each character that she has created. She does not condone certain actions or behaviors (by no means). However, you’ll find as you read, that you must choose a side, or at the very least, judge for yourself. Please keep in mind that I say, judge for yourself; NOT stand in judgment. That distinction is crucial. The reader may feel more like a witness as Martin writes; she seems to step aside and let you truly see. I appreciated the fact that each character is in the process of learning, about God, themselves and the people around them. Martin, as I wrote before, did not lead the reader, but presented all of the “facts”. The reader must draw his or her own conclusions. The Other Side is suspenseful, unexpected and satisfying. Maybe you will find that you can pick up The Other Side without picking a side – but I feel you’d be the better for it.
