This being a period piece,(Post WWII), I thought it extremely well written and quite enjoyable. The reality of a "pen pal" helping a soldier get through the tough times resonates even today. The added romance that follows after the meeting of the two characters is just the culmination of a good story. Kudos to L.K.Campbell for a story well conceived and executed.
  • Pet Recyclers, Chip Shots on Jan. 07, 2011

The first thing that caught my attention was the title...I know...that's a real original way to start, but, think about it. "Pet Recyclers chip shot"? What would you think this was about? I must admit I was skeptical, but decided that it was worth a 'shot'. I was very pleasantly surprised when I began reading. The story moved along nicely and also gave the reader the feeling that something wasn't right. A good story and a good premise. As the plot thickens, the action becomes more involved and the final confrontation, though very violent, was necessary to bring the story to it's conclusion. Some parts of the story are not all that believable, so take it with a grain of salt. Overall it was a good read. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fast paced mystery with just a hint of romance thrown in. Enjoy.

  • Return to Redlin on Feb. 22, 2011

This story has a very interesting beginning...one you are not really sure about until you get well into the story. It moves well and leaves you sitting with a question on your lips, but you can't quite get the answer. It all comes out in the wash, though and the story has a definite twist at the end. It's suspenseful and attention holding. Enjoy the read!
