Steven A. Jameson

Biography

Pastor Steve Jameson brings a life of experiences in Asia, Africa and the US to his ministry. He grew up as an ""Army Brat", went into the US Army during the Vietnam era, later worked as a writer and photographer, and then came to faith in Jesus Christ.

"Pastor Steve" has been a full-time missionary since 1984. For six years, he and his wife and their two daughters (Erin and Colleen) lived in Jos, Nigeria, where they produced Christian ministry materials for Nigerian churches as members of "Sudan United Mission, Christian Reformed Church branch".

They have been based in Saint Louis since 1990. After serving the Kingdom of Christ in various capacities (researching church history in Jamaica, preaching evangelism crusades in Miami's Little Haiti district, shepherding a flock of street people and managing low income housing), Steve helped "re-found" a community-based church in the heart of Saint Louis, Missouri.

For about 9 years he was senior pastor of this small multi-racial congregation serving the poor. Services were always multi-ethnic and for a time were in both English and Farsi.

Since 2007, Steve has been the Chairman of the Board and Chief Creative Officer of One Door Ministries. ODM works with teams of believers to produce evangelism and discipleship materials for oral cultures. One goal of ODM is to have the majority of members on these production teams be nationals from the target country (in other words, the team working on products for Haiti is mostly Haitian).

Resources that have been produced through ODM are currently in use in the US and Haiti. Materials are also being tested in the devastated northern areas of Japan, and in the Fall of 2011, will be tested with Japanese communities in Australia.

ODM expects its materials will be translated into Spanish for use in the Caribbean, Central America and South America, and other languages for use in the Indian subcontinent, Africa and elsewhere.

In addition to evangelism and discipleship materials, Pastor Steve also writes children's literature, plays, and love songs for his wife. His works are being published by www.HushHarborBooks.com.

Pastor Steve spent 10 years in the U S Army. ("As an Infantry captain, I taught men to kill and die. Now by God's grace I teach people to live in peace.") He was graduated with honors from the University of Arkansas (BA, Psych; DMS), The University of Missouri Graduate School of Journalism (MA, Journalism; Summa Cum Laude) and Covenant Theological Seminary (MDiv; Cum Laude).

Their two daughters are grown and on their own, but still dearly loved. Both of their Havanese dogs, Gracie and Poppy, are 10 pounds of fun and motion.

Pastor Steve's motto is, "Always an experiment, always an adventure, and always by Grace."
