Smashwords book reviews by Chris Turner

  • Cougar on Oct. 16, 2012

This is a simple tale that recalls a snapshot in time of three wild animals and their connection with each other, and to man. Keith writes with a startling sympathetic ear for the wild that captures the spirit of these animals and conveys an insight into the way they think. I have never considered what the lonely rabbit or the hidden pheasant feels while the cougar is on the prowl. The pall of terror that mankind has inspired into these majestic creatures is all too evident. I found myself caught up into the minds of his remarkable characters, particularly the cougar, feeling that I have gained an understanding for the hardships they face, and their hatred for humans. Keith is a fine writer. `Cougar' is an enjoyable read.
  • Tales from The Painted Door I: Davaidh & Annie on Oct. 23, 2012

A poignant story in a bar that we can all relate to. David Keith writes compelling tales.
